I got a poor quality picture of Adele with her two, good friends, Raja and Alexa at the performance.
We made our traditional priesthood session donuts a week late. (Grandma jumped in on the eating part!)
We stopped by Tate & Zoey's 5th Under the Sea birthday party and were again amazed at Em's party throwing skills. Seriously impressive, Pinterest or not!
Meanwhile, Geoff went on a fishing trip down the coast of Mexico (from San Diego) with his dad and brothers. It was a great trip. He squeezed in a little beach time too.
And then life went back to normal after a few weeks of guests. Tennie was doing college tours and applications and got in her first small accident, backing into a pole. (She didn't seem too concerned about it, that is until she got the estimates! Hard knocks!) Ceci's school had a fall festival and Tennie volunteered as the Pocket Lady, where children could give a ticket and choose a prize our of one of the Pocket Lady's many pockets. She was brilliant.
Adele organized a school-wide fundraiser after hearing about Puerto Rico's hurricane and raised $1000 in a week! She worked hard to pull it all together. She was to be in a short training video for the church, which was really fun.
We met Ashley and Nina (and little Westin) Serafin, as well as Em and kids, at the Witchfest. Not my favorite event, but the company couldn't have been better!
Em and kids came our way one warm afternoon and we played pickle ball.
We had Bailey over one night and our living space became a giant fort. Possibly a Davis record.
We all still love our little cat, Mila (who is sometimes much more Vesuvius!) She has provided so many cuddles, fun and mischievousness! She's actually seems part dog. She comes when we call her, greets us at the door and needs more exercise and play than I thought a cat needed! She crawls in my lap every morning as I read and gives me a little chirp, letting me know she wants to be pet. If I stop, she chirps and puts her paw on my cheek. If I chirp back, we can have a conversation back and forth! She is full of personality.
She sleeps in the most tangled positions, usually covering her eyes with a paw.
I got a quick, picture of Tennie and Adele as they were rushing out the door in the morning. Tennie was a Mid-Summer Night Dream fairy, and Adele was a cactus. Both pulled these costumes together the night before. I love their creativity.
We spent Halloween night at Em's and had lots of laughs, candy and dancing. Geoff was a Chinese man, I was Joan Jett and Ceci and Bailey were mad scientists.
Em pretty much emptied her change jar buying back everyone's candy. I was appreciative.
The biggest event of October was Geoff leaving church employment. After five exciting, challenging and meaningful years working for the church, Geoff felt like his work was done (the Self Reliance initiative is up and running worldwide). We celebrated that we had the opportunity to be involved in such an incredible work, all of the learning and growth that took place, and the end of wearing suits every day!!! All sorts of things are in the works for what is next. Stay tuned...
Celebrations usually happen at Sawadi or Settabella. This one took place at Sawadi (Thai food).
