Camp Whipperwill - Day 3

Surprisingly, it was a relatively restful Sabbath at Camp Whippoorwill.

I did Adele and Taeya's hair for church (Ceci's isn't long enough but she still wanted to feel like her hair was fancy for pictures too)

In the afternoon they played pretty quietly. I even got a nap!

TK and Tennie building shapes with these tiny beads that are then ironed
(this little kit has kept them all busy for HOURS!)

When the day cooled we all went down to the meadow/pond. We played around, had tinfoil dinners, learned about and acted out Paul Revere's Ride and the Battle of Lexington, and finished the day with some ice cream and berries.

Geoff engaged in much wrestling

The kids found oysters in the pond! (Oysters in a pond? Who knew?)

We had two slips into the pond tonight, and Tennie almost had a third here

I took some character shots of the kids tonight. I told them people didn't smile much for portraits back then...so they got into the serious expressions.

And now for the drama. ACTION!

King George III is irate about the Boston Tea Party incident!

Ready to give the signal whether the British are coming by land or sea...

By sea! Two lanterns are hung at the Old North Church.

"The British are coming! The British are coming!"
