Limoges

Driving through the small country roads to Limoges (another of Geoff's mission cities) was my favorite stretch of the Tour de France. The tree-lined streets, the rolling hills, the old stone farmhouses, the red poppy fields, and an occasional town that somehow wasn't destroyed during the war, and hasn't been discovered by tourists - medieval towns still in perfect tact. I long gave up on trying to capture the beauty of the countryside. With the camera put away we soaked in every detail.

It was raining in Limoges and it seemed the whole town was closed. We finally found a little crepe shop that was open and when we stepped inside we weren't prepared for the colorful and whimsical decor!



We walked around the town a little enjoying the architectural changes from old town to older town.

A church member that Geoff had told us stories about happened to be at the church sewing with some other ladies. She recognized Geoff immediately and was so happy to see him. She really wanted us to stay in town for dinner but we were heading out of town.

She loved the girls and they loved her. She especially liked "Lucy" which is the name Ceci decided she wanted to be called for about three days of our Tour de France and how she was introduced.
