The girls attended a second TNT camp, this time taught by Aurora and Jeff Dickamore. Aurora played Eliza Doolittle in the traveling Broadway show of My Fair Lady right out of BYU. Her husband got a role in the cast too. They just returned from playing Joseph and Emma Smith in Nauvoo for the summer.
The TNT Play Theory principles were applied to different numbers and dances the kids chose. Here is TNT's mission statement:
Participants of PLAY THEORY consistently gain a greater sense of
validation, trust and hope. PLAY THEORY cultivates a belief in
abundance rather than scarcity and limitations and builds optimistic
paradigms that encourage participants to seek solutions outside of the
proverbial box. Interactive, non-competitive games create generous
intentions that build trust. This increase in charitable feelings has
been consistent amongst a wide variety of groups of all ages.
The principles are:
- Be 100% present
- Look outward (focus on making everyone around you look and do great)
- Let go and play (Forget about what others think about you)
- Say "Yes and..." (Take what ideas people give to you and build on them)
The energy in these camps is so positive and fun. Unfortunately, I don't know how to take good indoor pictures with my iphone so the quality of these photos is pretty poor...but you'll get the idea.
