Our friends, the Archibalds, came for a visit again, only this time Jared came along. The kids picked up right where they left off from their visit six weeks ago, only this time they rehearsed for a play (which they abandoned after it was decided there were too many exciting things to do outside the garage), and they spent about two hours digging for gold on the back hill. During lunch we told the legend that there was a brothel here on this property during the gold rush, run by a South American man and woman. After some time they had a death warrant on their heads (and were eventually hung), but before their deaths they buried all of their gold somewhere on the property. Now whether it is on
this very five acres, and not the neighboring properties, is unsure, but the girls were determined to find out!
Jared and Geoff found plenty of time to catch up, and so did Becca and I, which was a pleasant surprise considering all the comings and goings of kids, and tiny ones at that. We did the mud masks again, but we just couldn't talk Jared into joining us...
They arrived yesterday morning and left this morning...too short a visit for old friends.
