Exploring Cap Ferrat

There is a beautiful piece of land going out into the sea just East of Ville Franche called Cap Ferrat. Last week we took the train to Ville Franche and rented scooters to do some exploring. We hadn't been there, yet, but it was at the top of our list of things we still wanted to explore before we leave.

The train goes right along the coast and has spectacular views

Adele and I lucked out with a pink scooter...

So did Nikki and Tennie

Geoff and Ceci rode together, and Mesha who had never ridden a scooter in her life courageously rode alone and got the hang of it right away

We stopped for lunch in a small town...

and discovered a little cove with crystal clear blue water...

A view of the harbor and small town

There was a really cool, old stone church at the point of the peninsula with this gigantic statue of Mary and the Christ child. You can see Tennie at shin level.

The interior of the church had this gruesome portrayal of the martyrdom of a saint. We got a kick of Tennie standing there next to it with a big smiling pose.

This view from the church over the graveyard was beautiful. The last of the Knights Templar is said to be buried here.

Can you tell I love these girls in their big helmets?

There was a beautiful lighthouse with a little path that went down to the water. Mesha and Tennie went down to explore...

They make a good pair. Mesha loves to take pictures and Tennie loves to pose for them!

Back in Ville Franche after a really fun day

That looks like an absolute blast, Darcie! How fun!!! Love the pink scooters. And the crystal water and Geoff's smile while he's looking at it. I see the target cardigan has made it's way to Mesha. I've worn the heck out of mine. It might have to go to the "burn" pile with all of the clothes from this pregnancy, but it will be difficult to part with it:)

Please tell Nicki hello for me.

Big hugs to everyone.
