We invited the ward over for a swim party today. It is a holiday (Mary's Ascencion), the sun was shining and warm, and suprisingly a lot of people made the trek to Menton. It was interesting organizing a party here. Most people around here don't have the internet in their homes. That meant we had to supply maps and invitations. How do people survive without the internet!!!? Then again, how refreshing to not have it in your home zapping time from family and personal downtime! So the invitations and maps worked and people came. We had a potluck-style lunch and we ended up with loads of extra food. Everyone jumped in making vinagarettes and slicing fresh baguettes, and when they left the kitchen was spotless. Bless their souls! It was great to see this group of people outside of a Sunday service. We've met some really great people.
The past few days we've been tying up loose ends (there always seems to be another thing to get done before we leave) and swimming a lot. Adele can now swim without plugging her nose, and can jump off the side and swim across the pool. Two days ago Ceci broke the face-in-the-water barrier and can now swim across the jacuzzi pool underwater; coming up for a breath when she needs to. She loves it. Their skin in getting brown, their hair is bleaching blonde, and the neighbors are calling to complain about all the noise. Perfect.
