We decided against the Surf Lodge for a variety of reasons, and instead spent Saturday at Mombacho Volcano. First we did zip lines over the coffee plantation set up as a buffer zone for the rain and cloud forests above. This was a total blast, and for some crazy reason my fear of heights didn't hold me back. There were about 6 zip line platforms, a wire walk, a Tarzan swing, and then a rappel at the end.

Remember when we were kids how much fun it was to ride in the back of a truck? The good ol' days. The girls were so excited to hitch a ride back to our starting point.
We arrived to a full lunch ready for us. Is this what it is like for my family every day? Show up to a table full of good food? Wow!
We took a fun ride 45 degrees uphill to the top of the volcano where there is both a rain forest and cloud forest.

| Beyond the volcano is Lake Nicaragua. You can see some of the small "Isletas" created by an eruption of this volcano thousands of years ago. |

| This vista of the lake was my favorite spot. The plants in the cloud forest (moisture comes from condensation over the lake) were short and stout to withstand winds. No winds when we were there. Just fields of wildflowers and blue sky. |

Yesterday we found a church in Managua which was fun, and then spent the day at the hotel relaxing. Today we're in Granada. Pictures coming!

Darcie!! What an incredible adventure! I'm just getting caught up on everything on your blog. I know this is awhile back, but I loved the skit the girls did about old ladies. They nailed it!
